Au Vieux Panier: Fusion by Phillippe Baudelocque

The Au Vieux Panier hotel in Paris, France asks artists to redecorate their rooms.

This is Fusion by the artist Phillippe Baudelocque.

It is the largest room at Au Vieux Panier, with it’s own patio and kitchen

Explanation of the work from the website:

These designs are made up of cells
Each cell represents a dimension
Each dimension is linked to a motif or pattern
A possible interpretation of ‘motif’ is:
Put the Plan into motion
The artist has taken this meaning and integrated it wholeheartedly into designs of constellations and animal faces,
mixing the organic with the cosmic.
More than just animals,
they are symbols that represent Nature.
One word sums up this work: FUSION.

The subdued colors make this one of my favorite rooms at Au Vieux Panier.

All photos are from Au Vieux Panier.
